2006 Houston NAC Results

Results & Medals

In one of our strongest performances of the season, Space City Fencing Captures 6 Medals at the Houston North American Cup January 13-16th at the George Brown Center. There were many highlights of the tournament. Mario Rodriguez Captured 3 of the 6 Medals, a 1st Place in Wheelchair Men’s Saber, and two 2nd Place medals in Wheelchair Men’s Epee and Foil respectively.

Other Medalists include Neely Brandfield-Harvey, who took 6th Place in Junior Women’s Epee, and Cadet Benjamin Parkins who took 5th Place in Junior Men’s Foil . By achieving these great results both Neely and Benjamin have earned the Number two ranks in the nation for cadet team point standings and this will strongly support them to qualify as a member of the national team competing in the world championships in South Korea this coming April.

Colin Sutter took 5th Place Division I Men’s Foil, who was seeded first after the pools then fenced hard to make it into the top 8, this is Sutter‘s best finish of the season so far. The medal count for Space City Fencing keeps going up – mainly due to the quality of our coaches and the dedication of our fencers.

Congratulations to all of our fencers who competed in the Houston North American Cup. You represented yourselves and Space City Fencing admirably Continue to work hard and we will see you on the MEDAL STAND soon!
