This past weekend April 18-19, four Space City fencers traveled to Dallas to compete at the Duel in Dallas Spring RJCC/VET/RPC hosting by Fencing Institute of Texas, securing multiple Top 8 finishes in Cadet and Junior foil events.

Leading the charge were bronze medal performances from Genevieve Goitia in Cadet Women’s Foil and Evan Lin in Junior Men’s Foil. Both athletes showcased composure and tactical execution to reach the podium in highly competitive fields.

Beyond the podium, Space City demonstrated impressive depth, with both the men’s and women’s squads each recording four Top 8 finishes across Cadet and Junior divisions. This consistency across age groups highlights the strength of the club’s development pipeline and its ability to compete at multiple levels.

Notably, several fencers came close to podium finishes, with multiple 5th and 6th place results signaling strong upward momentum. These near-medal performances suggest that future events could see an increase in podium conversions.

Overall, the tournament reinforced Space City Fencing Academy’s strength in foil and its growing presence in regional competition.
