Yes. Every participating fencer must complete and sign the tournament waiver before entering the facility and competing. Fencers are encouraged to print and complete the waiver before arriving to make the check-in process faster. Parents who are not competing do not need to complete the waiver.

Regular registration is available through August 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Triple late fees apply from September 1 through September 16. Online registration closes after September 16, although walk-in registration may be permitted at triple fees when space remains available.

Fencers should bring proof of a current USA Fencing membership, preferably their USA Fencing membership card or a clearly legible copy. Fencers must also have their completed waiver and must check in separately on each day they compete.

The Battle in Space City RYC/RJCC will be held September 19–20, 2026, at the University of Houston Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, located at 4500 University Drive, Houston, TX 77004.

Equipment check will be available Friday, September 18, from 5:00–6:30 p.m. It will also open at 7:00 a.m. on both tournament days. Completing equipment inspection Friday evening may help fencers avoid delays before early-morning events.

The tournament includes events for Y8, Y10, Y12, Y14, Cadet and Junior fencers. Eligibility is primarily based on birth year, although some younger fencers may qualify for an older category through the USA Fencing National Rolling Point Standings. Fencers should confirm their eligibility through their USA Fencing profile before registering.
